#4 register your blog and track your progress

I registered my blog and use the montgomerycountymd.gov email address. I also bookmark this blog for easy access. Happy to find so many librarians already blogging and learning. I am glad to join the team and new family.

#6 Flickr mashups

http://stamen.com/projects/mappr

This is a good way to share the photos with friends. It is also educational to show students the landmarks on the map. Since I already has a mail.yahoo.com account, so it save me a step to use Flickr too.

#23 Conclustion

Digital library is just wonderful. Sky is the limit for the user. I do learn a lot by going through this 23 Things exercise. Some of the "Things" need more than one hour to learn and to comb through. I have been searching databases since 1979. At that time Dialoge was the database for librarians. I am now more comfortable to introduce more different kind of resources to patron.

I also has problem get into my blog. So, instead of explore and blog the same time, I go ahead and explore the exercise from Week 4 through Week 8 and take notes this Spring. Finally in early June I have a break through and get help from the blog help desk. I finally get the instruction how to get into my blog and publish post. This is the reason you may notice I blog 8 things in one day. Mainly it is just a re-visit to each Thing.

Well, because I have 4 different email accounts and I didn't know which account I registered my blog in.

High recommend 23 Things to anyone who want to learn more about networking.

#22 download audio book

Montgomery County Public Library's home page has a e-libarary. Patron can download a audio book easily. We also has a electronic book collection. I am surprise to find some technical manual in the e-collection.

This is my very own paintings and photographs. You can search "Catholic Meditation Art", the only entry with artwork, music and scripture in this topic. I did some research and finally suggest by a friend.

Youtube.com own by Google. You can upload/view any video you want in youtube, as long as not violate the copyright law. Want to learn a dance step? accupressure? the list goes on and on. Oh, yes, movies and songs too. Thanks to all who upload them.

#19 award list

http://washingtondc.craigslist.org/vac/

Craigslist.org is #1 rating. Wow! I heard so many positive comments through the years. Very often my friends would say, "Don't you know I get this and that from the Craigslist?" Well, this is the first time I explore it. So many catagories and so many cities around the world is included.

Sharing and networking among pbworks.com is easy. The page setting is clean and clear without much advertising. It is easier on the eyes.

Wiki let reader link to different topics within the subject without open another window.

http://meredith.wolfwater.com/ala2006/index.php?title=Main_Page

I just came back from ALA Annual Conference 2010 in Washington, D.C. Would it be nice if someone set up a wiki for this event. There are so many sessions that we just can't participate all of them.

#10 where i've traveled to

#9 Merlin

Topix.net is good for travel. I am working at home today. What a surprise, smart topnix.net immediately show the news and what goes on in my hometown. Good site to visit when traveling. just wonder what city Topix.net will show when you are flying across the Pacific Ocean.

I also find merlin and register two free online classes.

#8 RSS feed

I subscribe to bloglines. It is easy to keep up to date with almost any topic I want. I decide to mark arts and library. Since I have a very long email address, it is pain to type the password and type in the funny hidden words before submit.

#7 I like to learn new technology. I lie. But learning new things can keep my away from drugs.

Today is a trial and error day. It takes me more than half an hour to find my blog and add a post. I don't like blogging. I enjoy talking to people in person instead.

#5 Flickr

Hi, It has been a long time since the last post. I had difficulty logging on to this blog. Then I creat another blog address to post "homework". Today I find out I need to "login" in order to post my new blog. I immediate edit my profile.
Yayyyy, I finished #21 already, just has 2 to go. #22 and #23 on the list.
My "monitor staff", Kate probably don't like the idea of me "transfer" my "unauthorized" blog into this blog.
Well, I am trying to learn as much as I can. Some "Week" do take more than one hour to learn. Sometimes 3 hours for me.

Week 3: Photos & Images (#5, 6, 7) done in 4/28/2010
Flickr is just awesome.
I am just so excited to find the photo of the graveyard I visited often when I was in high school. I used to study there. It is a quite place to get away from the noise of the busy city, Hong Kong.
I upload the picture of my daughter holding a BIG fish that she catches into Flickr. I only share with my family, and not sharing with anyone.
